Answered247 ("we", "us") provides an AI phone answering service to businesses. This policy explains what personal data we handle, why, and your rights. Contact: hello@answered247.co.uk.
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Account details — business name, contact name, email, phone, login credentials | Running your account, dashboard access, service emails |
| Caller data — name, phone number, postcode, enquiry details, call recordings and transcripts | Answering your calls, generating the summaries we send you |
| Billing status — subscription and trial state (card details are held by Stripe, never by us) | Trials, subscriptions, reminders |
| Service logs — call metadata, timestamps, technical logs | Reliability, debugging, abuse prevention |
Calls are answered by an automated AI receptionist. Audio is transcribed and processed by AI providers to generate responses and to extract the caller's details, and a summary (which may include a recording or transcript) is emailed and/or texted to the business being called. Businesses using the Service are responsible for informing their callers that calls are answered by an automated system and may be recorded, where the law requires it.
We use a small number of service providers to run Answered247, each receiving only what they need:
Some providers process data outside the UK (including in the United States) under their standard safeguards for international transfers. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use caller data to train AI models.
The dashboard uses a single essential session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS), access to systems is restricted, and payments are handled entirely by Stripe. No system is perfectly secure; we will notify affected users of any breach as required by law.
Under UK GDPR you can ask us for access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, object to or restrict processing, and request portability. Email hello@answered247.co.uk and we will respond within one month. If you are a caller whose call we answered, we may refer your request to the business you called, as the controller of that data. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
We may update this policy from time to time; material changes will be flagged on this page or by email.
